Never heard of her but I like the concept of the song, she's got a good legal premise for the title. She'd win with that argument, it is premeditated. Thirty Years Today....

I first heard Aimee's work in the film, Magnolia, and based on the strength of those songs, my wife Ann and I picked up the albums that were available then (late 90s). I just discovered this song yesterday -- some 15-and-a-half years after Ann's suicide. I was totally choked up by lyrics and music. And the concept that "suicide is murder" was one that I came to following Ann's death. I think, for the survivors of those who commit suicide, there is a complex and contradictory set of feelings, because we feel both terrible sadness for the victim, and terrible anger for the murderer -- and they are the same person. Thank you, Aimee Mann for this haunting, poignant song.
